This year, Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster is supporting the „Pelikanhaus“ project of the Clemenshospital Münster and the „Integration of Women in Sports“ project with a total of € 5,000 with its traditional Christmas donation. „For Landwirtschaftsverlag, social responsibility means not forgetting those who need help“, emphasised Managing Director Werner Gehring when handing over the donation to Dr. Martina Klein from the Alexians, who is in charge of the Pelikanhaus project, and Laura Verweyen, project manager of Integration of Women in Sports, on 17 December at Landwirtschaftsverlag.

„Pelikanhaus“ - A temporary home

In the Clemenshospital, seriously ill children are treated with specialised therapies - often for several months. The young patients come from all over Germany, but still need the intensive support of their parents and siblings in a special way during this time. This is difficult because there is a lack of affordable accommodation for the families. In the „Pelikanhaus“, parents and relatives will be able to rest and recharge their batteries in the immediate vicinity of the hospital and then be there for their child again. The temporary home offers a total of 12 rooms. „Anyone who has ever experienced how stressful a seriously ill child is for the whole family knows how valuable such a home is“, affirms Managing Director Dr. Ludger Schulze Pals.

„Integration of Women in Sports“ project

The Integration of Women in Sports project, which will be known as „Move and Meet e.V.“ from 2022, offers refugee women, but also women who have experienced violence, the chance to make a real new start. The association enables women to participate in social and cultural life in Münster. Low-threshold sports courses are offered in protected rooms, sometimes in combination with language support, and childcare is provided during training times.

„This is integration in the best sense and enables the women to return to a normal life,“ says Managing Director Malte Schwerdtfeger, welcoming the project.

„On behalf of all employees of Landwirtschaftsverlag, we would like to thank the initiators and active participants of the „Pelikanhaus“ and „Integration of Women in Sports“ projects for their exemplary commitment. It is a great pleasure to support such projects financially“, Werner Gehring clarifies. For years now, Landwirtschaftsverlag has been doing without customer gifts at Christmas in favour of supporting such projects. „We have the impression that our customers and readers understand this. We would like to thank them for this signal and, on behalf of the entire staff, wish all our business partners a Merry Christmas and a successful New Year,“ the managing directors conclude.
