top agrar aid campaign ‘Together for Ukraine’ - almost € 180,000 donated so far

Repair work and power generators are particularly important in winter

The ‘Together for Ukraine’ aid campaign launched by the trade journals top agrar Deutschland, top agrar Polska and top agrar Österreich and supported by the Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster group of companies is focussing on three main areas this winter. ‘On the Ukrainian side, we are supporting the Chamber of Agriculture in Lviv in repairing its buildings damaged by an air raid. In addition, more power generators are needed and we are supporting two more refugee shelters in the Lublin area,’ says Karol Bujoczek, Publishing Director of AgroHorti Media, to which top agrar Polska belongs, describing the activities. Over the past three years, ‘Together for Ukraine’ has been able to realise more than 50 measures and projects in Poland and Ukraine worth over €160,000. Companies and individuals have donated a total of almost €180,000 to date.

‘Russia favours attacking Ukraine's infrastructure. In this context, the Lviv Chamber of Agriculture, which supports us in the implementation of aid projects in Ukraine, has itself become in need of help. Many windows were destroyed in an air raid in Lviv. We therefore decided to support the renovation in order to keep the Chamber of Agriculture operational,’ explains Bujoczek. In addition, 14 more power generators have been delivered to Lviv. There, the Chamber of Agriculture ensures that they are passed on to organisations that are primarily in need in order to compensate for the increasing outages in the public power grid. ‘We are also active in Poland and will support two more refugee shelters in the Lublin area as soon as Caritas has inspected and approved the facilities,’ says the journalist, describing the breadth of the activities.

‘We would like to thank all those responsible at Caritas in Poland and Germany, the chambers of agriculture in Lublin and Lviv as well as the rural women and farmers and our colleague Karol Bujoczek for their great commitment on the ground. Without this ongoing support, we would not be able to utilise the funds in such a targeted manner,’ said top agrar editors-in-chief Guido Höner and Matthias Schulze Steinmann. ‘This ensures that the generous donations from our sponsors have the best possible impact.’

The Caritas Münster donation account is still active: Caritasverband für die Diözese Münster e. V., IBAN: DE47 4006 0265 0004 1005 05, BIC: GENODEM1DKM, purpose: ‘Together for Ukraine’.
