JAHR MEDIA buys ‘Reiter Revue International’ from Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster

All jobs to be retained - Brand to be further expanded in association with ‘St.GEORG’ and ‘Mein Pferd’ - Transition to take place on 1 September 2024

‘Reiter Revue International’, the traditional brand in the equestrian sports segment, is getting a new owner. After 13 years at Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster, the title will move to JAHR MEDIA in Hamburg on 1 September 2024. The trusting discussions between Landwirtschaftsverlag and JAHR MEDIA were successfully concluded with the signing of the purchase agreement.

JAHR MEDIA intends to further expand ‘Reiter Revue International’ in conjunction with the titles ‘St.GEORG’ and ‘Mein Pferd’. Accordingly, the jobs at ‘Reiter Revue International’ will be retained and will be transferred to JAHR MEDIA on 1 September or the colleagues will take on new tasks at the publishing house. Until then, the editorial and marketing of the title will continue at Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster.

In recent years, ‘Reiter Revue International’ has developed from a magazine into a multimedia brand that now has an impressive digital reach in the national equestrian magazine segment. With 58,000 followers on Instagram and 75,000 followers on Facebook, ‘Reiter Revue International’ is the market leader in this segment. The paid circulation is 24,992 copies (IVW 1/2024).

With this development, ‘Reiter Revue International’ complements the strong digital presence of ‘St.GEORG’ and ‘Mein Pferd’ around the high-reach platform ‘st-georg.de’ and fits in with JAHR MEDIA's multimedia growth strategy.

‘With “Reiter Revue International”, “St.GEORG” and “Mein Pferd”, JAHR MEDIA will soon be the leading national and international editorial information provider on all channels relating to horses and equestrian sports,’ says Alexandra Jahr (Publisher JAHR MEDIA), explaining the strategy of JAHR MEDIA Managing Director Ardalan Sheikholeslami.

In future, Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster will focus on a regional magazine in the equestrian segment with the title ‘Reiter & Pferde in Westfalen’ as the association magazine of the Pferdestammbuch Westfalen, as well as on digital growth with ‘rimondo’, the digital platform for equestrian sport and horse breeding.

'I would like to thank the “Reiter Revue International” team for their extraordinary commitment and strong performance over the past few years. Jahr Media is the ideal owner to further develop this traditional brand. Our employees will have a good future, that was particularly important to us,’ says Malte Schwerdtfeger, Managing Director of Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster.
